Exploring the Web
I was surfing the Web today, reading blog postings, and catching up on the news - the Internet news that is. I happened upon this post, Visual Literacy Tool, introducing PicLits.com. Interesting idea for students to begin thinking about the process of writing whether it be poetry or that next term paper.
Visual literacy is the process of making meaning visually through images such as graphs, charts, diagrams, and images. Combining words and images adds another level of meaning and PicLits is a tool that will provide you with an engaging way to combine images and words - moving to that next level of understanding.
Just a little about PicLits. Its tag line is, inspired picture writing. Wow.
It allows you the user to select an image and then drag words to the image to create or express meaning. Interesting idea. If you are not fond of the list of words provided you do have the opportunity to add your own words.
You can save your creation and post it onto your blog. Now that is terrific. Mine is below…
